Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast

My name is Jered Weber and my friends Troy, Bill, Pat and I thought starting a podcast would be a good way to stay in touch as we spread across the country (San Francisco, Minneapolis and New York City). Was this a mistake? Probably. Are we still moving forward? Definitely. So join us as we agree loudly about a variety of topics including politics, pop culture and sports.

Pat, Troy and Carson take a deep dive into why democrats are losing elections and provide their insights into how and when the party of Roosevelt and Kennedy will start winning again. Troy talks about the cynical aspects of identity politics, Pat does his best Nate Silver and looks into the state legislative losses over the last 7 years and Carson takes on the bipartisan neoliberal to neoconservative policy consensus of tax cuts and who they really benefit.

With some shameless pleas for Thomas Frank and Rick Perlstein to pay attention to Agreeing Loudly and a handful of greatly needed plugs for Matt Taibbi and Matthew Yglesias, the end result...a fantastic weekend podcast to listen to.

Apr 26, 2016
On this week's episode of Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast, Pat makes his triumphant return to share his distaste with the movie preferences of the Millennial generation before injecting a healthy dose of sports news back into the podcast. Also, Jered tries to introduce an Avatar-inspired segment before succumbing to the Game of Thrones. And it wouldn't be Agreeing Loudly, without another long-winded political discussion featuring Donald Trump, the insanity of the far-right, and other overexposed topics.

Will Pat's return lead to a new Golden Age for the podcast? Is Jered voting for the Democratic nominee for President? Can Bill handle more bad news for Donald Trump? Spoiler Alert: Tune in now to find out!

On this week's episode of Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast, Bill and Jered attempt to soldier forth without Pat, who has apparently been tasked with an important mission to steal top secret Death Star plans. In the meantime, friend of the show, Mitch steps up to give the midwestern perspective this week on exciting topics including Millennials favorite places to work, the Star Wars Rogue One Trailer, the Denver QB uncertainty, and more exciting discussion about the never-ending 2016 quest for the presidency.

Will Comcast stop being evil long enough for Jered to finish this episode? Has Pat been replaced by a negaversion of himself? Can Bill interpret Jered's robot speak? Tune in now to find out!
Apr 4, 2016

After a brief hiatus, Bill, Jered, and Pat return to bring you another exciting episode of Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast. This week Bill does his best to answer the question of whether Millennial Bernie Sanders supporters will turn out for Hillary during the general election. Meanwhile, Jered celebrates his recent move to Denver by obsessing far too long over Batman vs Superman, the future of streaming and why he thinks this year's Wrestlemania is poised to be one of the worst of all time. Perhaps even more shocking, Pat has his own thoughts about the professional wrestling's biggest show of the year.

After purging his system from sports entertainment, Pat leads a vibrant sports discussion that includes his thoughts on the NFL/NYT battle royal, Iggygate, and a round of MLB predictions that are filled with plenty of homer picks. And of course, it wouldn't be Agreeing Loudly without another presidential campaign driven political parrots segment. Can Bernie Sanders defy the odds and win the nomination? Will Donald Trump be the Republican Nominee? Listen now for the answer to these questions and more!

The curse of 27 lives on! 2 of our 3 regulars are out this week, and everyone else has busted March Madness brackets.

Come all and come listen to Pat, Carson, and Troy recover to discuss whether we have reached "peak Millennial" in Urbania, United States. Listen to dispatches and exclusives from Central Earth, prognostications of what has become a boring and predictable Presidential race, and a high note ending with a little game called "Guess the 13 Richest Americans."

A fitting and competitive end to this 27th episode, brought to you from the commentators who will do their best to help you get through the 2nd American Gilded Age with a slice of wit, snark, and satire.
Mar 14, 2016

On this week's episode of Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast Jered, Bill and Pat (only because he had to) finally answer the question that has been in the minds of our listeners since day one. What will be the better movie: Batman vs.Superman or Captain America: Civil War?

Oh and they also talk about some other mildly interested topics including Dancing with the Stars co-host Erin Andrews' successful lawsuit against the Marriott, whether or not Apple should give the FBI a back door to the Iphone and not one, not two, but three different political topics.

Can all of these topics possibly fit into an hour? Will Jered stop dropping F'bombs long enough for Pat and Bill to get in a word edgewise? Will there even be a podcast episode next week? Tune in to find out!
Mar 7, 2016

On the 25th episode of Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast, the core team returns to restore some order to the podcast world. Bill struggles to lead a February sweeps segment in a world of streaming bliss. Meanwhile, Pat reopens the stadium discussion with a bit of Saint Paul related soccer news. Also, Jered tries to make millennial home ownership sexy and relevant before dragging the podcast into the dark Drumpfs of the internet with a super exciting debate about Trump and the Republican Party.

Will Bill learn the true meaning of February sweeps? Does anyone on the podcast care where millennials are buying houses? Is Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast a better podcast than the Five Thirty Eight Elections podcast? You only live once so listen to this week's episode to find out!
Mar 3, 2016

On this week's special 1 1/2 hour episode of Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast, regular hosts Pat and Jered are joined by special co-host and friend of the show Maria Camargo to get to the bottom of Super Tuesday's results. Also, all of the Agreeing Loudly contributors are on hand as regional correspondents to give their perspectives on the night's outcomes.

Not a fan of politics? Well there's also plenty of discussions on historical Tuesdays and the Academy Awards. In addition, despite the Agreeing Loudly contributors' protestations Pat manages to lead another exciting recap of this week in sports.

Still not interested? Well...listen anyways!

On this week's episode, friend of the show Maria Camargo joins us all the way from the great city of Toledo which may or may not be located in the land of the eastern time zone.

In honor of the upcoming New Hampshire Primary, we share our favorite pieces of pop culture from the iconic state. Also, it's Super Bowl 50 time in the Agreeing Loudly studio as Pat leads an exciting prop bet segment that will be sure to leave Jered wracked with regret by next week's episode.

In a shamefully transparent effort at plugging our written content, we delve into an article by Allan Branstiter discussing whether Generation X is finally ready to flex it's political muscle.

And of course we spend far too much time talking about the Iowa Caucus results and what they mean for the New Hampshire Primary.

Everyone's on deck to share their favorite Iowa pop culture contributions, struggle through an Iowacentric sports segment, and discuss whether millennials are actually going to vote during the upcoming elections. In addition, Pat leads an exciting "Know Your Caucus Contender" contest that reminds us why we should have payed more attention in civics class. Jan 25, 2016

This week Agreeing Loudly runs into some technical difficulties when Bill decides that charging his phone and telling time is insignificant compared to the power of his wife's birthday.

In what some people are calling "the worst podcast ever" Pat and Jered have a vibrant discussion about the future of Hispanic Millennial voters and whether or not presidential debates really matter. Fortunately, Bill uses his mad computer science skills to teleport in for the second half of the episode to lead a Pop Goes the Culture segment focusing on Agreeing Loudly's most anticipated movies of 2016.

After sitting through that nerdtastic discussion, Pat bring things back to reality with a sports discussion including NFL predictions, Ronda Rousey's acting chops, and other hot sports topic from the previous week.

Can Pat and Jered hold a discussion without Bill? Will Lebron James destroy this podcast once and for all? What am I talking about?

Will the Coast to Coast Kids inspire a new generation of loud agreement? Will Pat survive another nerd-filled discussion? Will the podcast be sued out of existence by the WIAA and Donald Trump?

What moments, events and media were impressive enough to make the Agreeing Loudly cut? Will Jered be able to stay awake during this episode? Also Jered, Bill, Troy and Pat discuss possible solutions to the income and wealth inequality prevalent in America, introduce another fun-filled game focused on Star Wars, and enjoy the glory of another decent week in Minnesota sports excellence.

Nov 23, 2015

This week Pat misses the the podcast to participate in the 5th Annual Hunger Games.

Fortunately, Bill and Carson return in an effort to prevent another episode of long winded monologues and try to steer the ship toward productive discussion.

Unfortunately, Bill has a hot mic and Carson has a few monologues of his own, so the productive discussion will have to wait.

In the meantime, listen to the four musketeers of rants and rambling wax intellectual on the state of race relations in America, a bit of sci-fi inspired pop culture talk, and the usual nonsense about Minnesota sports.

Can 4 white guys discuss racial issues? Has Jered completely given up on the Minnesota Vikings? Will Bill's rent ever go down?

Nov 16, 2015

Now that the 10th episode has come and gone, the agreeing loudly crew soldiers forth and tries to find meaning in the podcast's continued existence.

This week Troy goes on a lengthy monologue of what he thinks the attacks in Paris mean for America's foreign policy future and makes an ill-fated attempt at a Simpson segue.

Jered pops the culture with a discussion on the popularity of video games among adults and what this means for the future of gaming.

Pat bookends things with discussions on the top millennial brands and the ups and downs of the Minnesota sports scene.

Will Troy set the record for longest monologue in podcast history? Will Pat be able to stay awake long enough to make it through this week's episode? Also, where the hell is Bill? For answers to these questions and more tune in to this week's episode of Agreeing Loudly Coast to Coast!

We're back with another exciting episode! Bill is replaced this week by regular scab Carson Starkey, as the Agreeing Loudly crew share their thoughts on the latest Republican presidential debate, the recent federal budget deal, Pat's most anticipated movies and the latest in Minnesota sports.

Also, Troy and Carson decry the state of the federal budget making process and declare war on any financial institution with the gall to call their cell phones and demand they pay their student loans.

Will the combined pessimism of Troy and Carson carry the show to the dark side or will Jered's blind optimism and Pat's moderate tone keep the show afloat one more week? Tune in to find out!
